The Best Software You Can Use to Get Debt Free
September 30th, 2009 by Sean PayneIf you’re in debt, you’ve probably noticed that those who successfully get out of debt use some kind of debt free software. There’s a good reason for this: It works!
There’s a saying that Success leaves clues. This means that people who are successful in getting out of debt have done specific things that got them out of debt, and that by doing the same things that they’ve done, you can get out of debt, too.
Most people who have successfully gotten out of debt did so by making a plan to pay off their debts, and then working their plan. If you have made a plan for paying off your debts, the right debt-free software will help you stick with your plan.
The best software for getting out of debt is called budgeting software. I like to use a spreadsheet program known as “You Need A Budget”. It has done so much to help me get out of debt. I credit my success in getting out of debt to my budgeting spreadsheet program.
Among the many other great budgeting software programs, one in particular stands out. Mvelopes Personal is a great web-based budgeting program that allows you to work with your personal budget from almost anywhere in the world. Mvelopes will also automatically pull transactions from your credit card and bank accounts, and puts them into your budget.
A free budgeting program that you can use is called Mint. Mint is another web-based budget that doesn’t cost you anything to use. A unique feature of Mint that is really great for users is that it compares that rates you pay on your debt to new offers from credit card issuers. Then, if it discovers a card that charges a lower rate, it will notify you so that you can save up to thousands of dollars on your debt while you’re paying it off. It will do the same thing for bank accounts – if it finds a bank that pays higher interest on its accounts, Mint will let you know about it, potentially letting you earn a lot more money on your savings accounts.
In addition to budgeting programs, there are plenty of other debt reduction software programs that will help you follow your plan for getting out of debt.
Microsoft Money and Intuit Quicken are programs that help you track both your budget and the rest of your finances. These two programs have similar capabilities, so which one you use is up to you. One of my complaints about these two programs is that they actually have too many capabilities. They have so many bells and whistles that you may actually be distracted from your original purpose of getting out of debt.
My advice to you is to stay with a simple budgeting software program. The right budgeting program will let you track your debts, expenses, and income. Don’t make the error of using a complicated financial program that has too many bells and whistles. Even a simple spreadsheet can help you manage your money, budget I recommend that you use an established budgeting system that has a history of getting people out of debt.
Whatever software you choose to help you with your debts, start using it today and don’t switch software unless it really doesn’t do what you want it to. Use it consistently, every day or every week as your situation requires, and your software will quickly get you out of debt.
